The Little Crown

I found this tiny carved wooden head set amongst many other swirling turns of wood on the back of a chair at Kingston Lacy, a National Trust property in Dorset.  I was there to watch  (and photograph) the winter light show – the gardens were all lit up and looking festive, but it was the inside of the house that really attracted my attention.  There are just so many tiny details waiting to be spotted, and this little royal figure was one of them.

I’d be very interested to know the story behind this little figurine, and I think a trip back to Kingston Lacy is a must.
