photographing the world, as I see it.

Central Bright-Eyed Frog

This tiny creature – a Central Bright-Eyed Frog – with its disproportionately large black eyes and glass-like green skin is probably no bigger than your thumbnail, and yet it contains all of the vital organs required to be alive.  I always find that fascinating, how life can operate at such different scales.

It remained very still for me as I took this photo, which was actually quite tricky shot to get, given the dark conditions and layers of display glass that I had to shoot through.  The results may be slightly grainy, and the depth of focus may be shallow, but I quite like the overall feel of this image – it’s all a matter of personal taste.
