I really enjoy black and white photography, there’s something enchanting about seeing the world without colour. It forces you to look at the details, the textures, the light and the shadow.
This particular black and white photo of a football in a playground was taken a couple of years ago in San Francisco, I remember spotting the ball from a distance and then just instinctively clicking the shutter. Sometimes you just know when you get a good shot, everything slots into place without a great deal of thought. I like it when that happens. It doesn’t happen often enough.
