The Depths of the Devil’s Cauldron

This powerful pool of water is known as the Devil’s Cauldron, and it is a key feature of the National Trust’s Lydford Gorge.

Over thousands of years the force of the water has carved out this deep round bowl in the rock, creating a dark and dangerous pit that I for one would not like to fall into!

To get the water to “flatten out” in this shot, I took a long exposure image – I think it helps to show off the power of the water.
