Month: January 2021

  • Ferry Hopping

    Ferry Hopping

There are many ferries around Scotland, including this little one which took us island hopping around the Outer Hebrides.

  • Scottish Beach Water

    Scottish Beach Water

I took this photo, being very careful not to get the camera soaked in salty water, whilst looking out across a sandy yet cold beach north of Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands.

  • Bath Bridge

    Bath Bridge

This is one of the bridges you travel under when you pootle about on the canal around Bath, in the Sydney Gardens area.

  • The Lock Gate

    The Lock Gate

This is what it looks like on the inside of a canal lock gate.

  • Seal Rock

    Seal Rock

This may not look exactly comfortable, but this seal seemed to be enjoying himself.

  • Another Swan

    Another Swan

Here’s another swan, to go along with the one a few days ago… they are such elegant birds!

  • The Crow by the Lake

    The Crow by the Lake

Another distinctly tenuous link to this month’s theme (liquid), here’s a Crow standing directly in front of the lake at Stourhead.

  • Dark Water

    Dark Water

Here’s a view of the Somerset Levels during a particularly cold, frosty, and foggy day.

  • The Bishop’s Swan

    The Bishop’s Swan

This is one of several swans that live in the moat surrounding the Bishop’s Palace in Wells. Though perhaps not as synonymous as the ravens in the Tower of London, there have been swans living in this location for a little under 200 years.
