This is a shot of some very apprehensive sports people, moments before taking part in a gruelling Half Ironman (or Ironman 70.3 if you prevent).

For those who are unaware of what this is, it’s a competition to see who can swim, cycle, and run the fastest across a long distance (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and 13.1 mile run).

This photo was taken a decade ago, when people gathering safely in large groups was still a thing (and hopefully one day will be again!).
