Here’s another interesting shot, and one that I think takes a bit of explanation. What you are looking at is a series of glass bottle bottoms, and as much as you might think this comes from somewhere like Reims (the home of champagne) you’d be wrong… this is the side of a house in Calico, California.
Calico is a ghost town, now turned into a museum of sorts and a tourist attraction. When it was first built, in the late 19th century, it was a hugely profitable mining town. There were over 200 silver mines here at one stage.
One of the many historical buildings still standing in Calico is a house made entirely from glass bottles.
