This rollercoaster (called the West Coaster) trundles around in Pacific Park, a small theme park built on the Santa Monica pier, in California. It has become something of an iconic image since its debut in 1996, and you will most likely have seen it in the background of at least one film or TV programme.
What did this image teach me?
Marvel’s 2008 Iron Man movie, the official start of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) featured the Santa Monica Pier, when Tony Stark tries out an early Iron Man outfit.
