One of my very favourite photographers, Michael Kenna, always shoots in black and white. I know it’s not to everyone’s tastes, but it appeals to me.
For example, to stand and look at this scene in the “real world” there’s very little to make an appealing image with… washed out sky and dull light.
Strip away the colour though, and suddenly the contrast of the dark poles and the white sky makes an image worth collecting.
Well, I think so anyway.
