Foxgloves

Foxgloves, or Digitalis if you prefer, are beautiful plants than range in colour from purples, pinks, whites, and yellows. There are 20 species of them.

I think they also look good in black and white.

What did this image teach me?

I didn’t realise (though I’m sure I’m probably last to find this out) that foxgloves are called “digitalis” supposedly because they so easily fit on top of your fingers (digits). The name “foxglove” however, comes from the mid-16th century from the German botanist Leonard Fuchs (Fuchs being the German word for fox).
