Hollyhock Sky

The hollyhock, or Alcea (or aoi in Japan), is a huge plant that grows to six or seven feet tall. It has a distinctive spread of flowers around a main stem.

It is a very important symbol in Japan. In Kyoto they even have a hollyhock festival day, Aoi Matsuri, held on the 15th of May each year.
