Huguenot Memorial

The Huguenots of South Africa were European immigrants who, for religious reasons, chose to leave their hone country behind.

They settled across the southern tip of Africa in the 17th Century, and established what is now a world famous industry for exporting wine and fruit around the world.

This stone memorial stands in Franschhoek as a testament to those people who came, through great hardship, and made a new life.
