The Roosevelt Hotel

This hotel, just across the street from Grauman’s theatre, is the oldest continuously used hotel in LA. It first opened its doors in 1927, and is still in use today (things went downhill slightly in the 50s, but have since picked up again).

What did this image teach me?

That I need to do a lot more research into Hollywood history… it’s fascinating.

For example, did you know the acting dog that played Toto in the famous 1939 Wizard of Oz was paid almost double what the human actors playing the munchkins received.
