White Snake’s Head

This is an example of a white snake’s head fritillary (Fritillaria meleagris alba), a beautiful little flower that gets its name from the slightly scaly look of it’s petals.

To get this shot I had to put the camera on the floor, and hope for the best, as I had no way of telling exactly how the composition would turn out. I am pleased with the results.
