  • The Top of the Bank

    The Top of the Bank

Taking three years to build, the CEC Palace (of which this shot shows just the very top of the tallest dome) is home to the very first bank opened in Romania. We will see more of this great building tomorrow.

  • Old Reflections

    Old Reflections

This shot shows the first bank in Bucharest reflected in the windows of a nearby modern building. I liked the way the bank is carved up into different sections as each window reflects its image in a slightly different way. Old and new combined.

  • Light Fantastic

    Light Fantastic

I know it’s a bit strange, but one of the things I enjoy about exploring cities across the world is how they design their street lamps. They all perform the very same function, and yet everywhere you go they look a little different. I wonder who designs them for a living?

  • Corneliu Coposu

    Corneliu Coposu

There are a lot of statues around Bucharest, in Romania. This is one of them that I found whilst exploring the city. This is Corneliu Coposu, a political leader, and one of the more important members of society.

  • Texaco Sign

    Texaco Sign

Texaco started life in 1902 as the Texas Fuel Company, and whilst the current logo for Texaco has a white star with a red background, this one (found on what was Route 66) has a red star and green T shape which dates it to around 1913.

  • Nutcracker!

    Nutcracker!

    Here’s a nice Christmas-themed image… it’s a Nutcracker.

  • The Lady in the Window

    The Lady in the Window

This “lady” was hanging around in a window in London, as part of the Christmas display.

  • The Blue Door

    The Blue Door

It may not be immediately obvious, but this is another shot from Brixham.

Here’s a young gull enjoying life by the sea in Brixham, Devon.
