Circles in the Ceiling
This unusual and somewhat abstract shot was taken in Dubai, whilst exploring one of the many large shopping malls they have there.

The Lighthouse on Eilean Musdile
This lighthouse, built in 1833 by famed Scottish civil engineer Robert Stevenson, sits upon the tiny island of Eilean Musdile. If you catch the ferry from Oban to Mull you will pass very closely to this historic building.

Old Boat Detail
This is a close of up colourful, abandoned boats on the shores of Mull. I don’t know how long they’ve been there but given their general state of repair it must’ve been quite some time.

On Golden Pond
This little boat was bathed in early morning light, turning the water around it into a golden, shimmering pond.

Tile Shapes
These are Portuguese tiles, from Lisbon. Tiles are a big thing in Portugal, going back centuries. In fact there is a museum dedicated just to tiles.

Golden Palazzo
Here’s a shot of one of the many impressive hotels you can find in Las Vegas. This is the Palazzo. Though this image doesn’t really show it, the Palazzo is the second largest building (by floor space) in the Western Hemisphere.

Here’s another detail from the Grand Canyon. The sheer scale of this place is impossible to depict in a single image. It’s truly miraculous to behold.

Canyon Colours
This is the Grand Canyon, Arizona. It’s amazing to think that the thin strip of blue down there, the Colorado River, had the power to carve out this huge canyon.

Taal Monument
And so we end the month with a somewhat unusual architectural structure. It’s part sculpture, part historical tribute, and part futuristic alien landscape… it’s the monument to the Afrikaans language, found in South Africa.
