The Watch Tower
Another shot from Calico, this time of the old watch tower.

The Golden Lion
The MGM Grand hotel in Las Vegas is famous for having these huge golden lions outside (it used to have real ones inside but fortunately animal welfare rules forced them into retirement).

Calico Ghost Town
As a former silver mining town, Calico now stands as a ghost town / museum. Founded in 1881, and almost completely abandoned by 1907, this hot, desert location once had a population of 3,500 all trying to find their fortune in silver. It has spent almost twice as much time as a museum / park…

The Other Lady
Here’s a statue of liberty, but not the statue of liberty. No, this fine lady stands tall and proud (though not quite as tall as the New York version) in Las Vegas.

Texaco Sign
Texaco started life in 1902 as the Texas Fuel Company, and whilst the current logo for Texaco has a white star with a red background, this one (found on what was Route 66) has a red star and green T shape which dates it to around 1913.

Palm Sky
I found this sharp looking palm tree whilst wandering the streets of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dandelion Dark
The humble dandelion can make for an interesting photography subject. I find it’s often best to get down low when trying to capture them.
-
Dry Leaves
Here’s an abstract nature shot. I do enjoy shooting with a very, very shallow depth of field. It can lead to some interesting, and unexpected results.

The Urn in the Window
Here’s another shot from Castle Drogo, just highlighting some of the many little details that you can find as you explore the rooms within this modern castle.
