PHOTOGRAPHING THE WORLD, AS I SEE IT.

  • The Sun Over Somerset

    The Sun Over Somerset

Ah, it’s new theme day… and as November rolls in, our focus shifts to keeping things local. This month’s photos will all be from Southwest England. Starting with this beautiful, misty sunrise taken whilst standing on the top of Burrow Mump.

Episode 37 – Back to Newbury

In this episode we travel from the edges of Great Bedwyn to Newbury on the Kennet & Avon canal. Along the way we rescue a calf from drowning in the canal, before wending our way in the sunshine to Newbury. Featuring: Picketfield Lock Hungerford Marsh Lock Hungerford Brunsden Lock Kintbury Kintbury Lock Dundas Arms Benham…

  • The Stone Queen

    The Stone Queen

And here we have it, the final image of this month. I’ve gone with a statue of Queen Victoria, which I feel is a random enough way to finish this month’s theme of random objects (I could’ve gone with a pumpkin or Halloween themed something… but that wouldn’t have been random enough!) Anyway, I hope…

  • The Cracked Floor

    The Cracked Floor

I have enjoyed this month of random objects, as it has allowed me to post all sorts of weird and wonderful things. Including this, a rather worn out and cracked floor. I mean who would post that, other than me? I like it because of the almost spider-web pattern on the floor.

  • Crofton Chimney

    Crofton Chimney

This large chimney stands within the grounds of the Crofton beam engine museum. It really is a very tall chimney!

  • The Kingfisher on the Wall

    The Kingfisher on the Wall

Here’s a beautiful mural found on a wall by the canal in Oxford.

  • Lamp Posts

    Lamp Posts

Ok, so lamp posts are often overlooked, mainly because they’re dull. Essential, sure. But dull. However, I quite liked this clutch of street lamps hanging around on the corner in Valletta. There’s something almost floral about them.

  • Bits of Building

    Bits of Building

If you look up in just the right spot, you can see these two buildings pointing up into the sky, in Malta.

  • Drogo Window

    Drogo Window

This is one of the large, bright windows you can find in Castle Drogo, the last castle built in England.

Do you like what you see?
