These Hamadryas Baboons are very social animals, living in harems with a single dominant male and several females. They enjoy a good preening session. These baboons are the most northerly species of baboon, living around the Red Sea.

This is the Baboon equivalent of a spa-day… What did this image teach me? Sometimes its very easy to fall into the trap of anthropomorphising animals, imbuing them with some kind of human emotion, understanding, or perspective – but when you see scenes like this, you can understand why it’s so easy.
