Scottish Old Houses
These two buildings stand within the grounds of the Skye Museum of Island Life. These buildings represent a very ancient way of living, in some of the most remote parts of Skye. People lived in these buildings until the end of the 19th Century.

The Lone Highlander
The 1745 Jacobite Rising began on the very spot this statue stands, upon the shores of Loch Shiel in the Highlands of Scotland. Bonnie Prince Charlie arrived here and began the uprising which ultimately ended in failure at the Battle of Culloden about eight months later.

This is The Lone Highlander, he stands atop the Glenfinnan Memorial, standing on the edge of Loch Shiel. This shot was taken through the undergrowth.

These rocks stand ancient and strong near the top end of the Isle of Skye. I think there’s something distinctly otherworldly about this location. It could almost be Mars, couldn’t it?

The Shepherd
This pyramid peak in Glencoe has the delightful name of Buachaille Etive Mòr. It is nicknamed The Shepherd, and has featured in a James Bond movie. This was the first photo I ever took in Scotland.
