Episode 003 – Market Day

In this episode we travel through Foxton Locks, down to Market Harborough and then back again… finding just enough time for an ice-cream along the way (Jerry certainly enjoyed his!) Foxton locks operates a “red paddle / white paddle” process, meaning that to either fill or empty each lock you need to fully wind the red paddle first (this lets a certain amount of water in) and then the white paddle… the reason for this is so that the volume of water is controlled correctly, and you don’t accidentally flood the tow path and ruin the locks for everyone! Red before white, you’ll be alright!
