Grey Leaves
I like the texture of these leaves, and their general look and feel. I couldn’t resist converting them to black and white. What did this image teach me? Leaves don’t always have to be shown in colour, sometimes black and white allows their unique natural texture to shine through.

What Do You Call A Man With A Seagull On His Head?
Cliff. Sorry. What did this image teach me? Puns are bad?

Red Heart
This is the centre of a bright red tulip, growing in my garden. What did this image teach me? Tulips don’t hang around for long, in my garden at least! Shortly after I took this photo, all the petals fell off.

Red Neck
This is a red-necked Ostrich, a very large bird indeed. So big in fact that I couldn’t get more than the head and the start of the neck in the shot! Look at all that fuzz! What did this image teach me? Ostrich eggs weigh about the same as two-dozen chicken eggs!

Budgie Buddies
These two birds kept a very close eye on me as I walked by. What did this image teach me? To be more conscious of colour as well as composition.

Sunrise Tree Line
Not a bad view to wake up to. What did this image teach me? Sometimes all you have to do is point and shoot, Mother Nature does the rest.

Crowned Crane

Ornate Turret
I’m afraid I can’t remember which National Trust property this particular ornate turret comes from (if you know, please feel free to leave a comment), but I quite like it. What did this image teach me? I suppose this image is in the process of teaching me to make better notes when I’m out and…

Peacock Blue
These birds are fascinating in so many different ways. For example, did you know that the peacock is really known as an Indian Peafowl (the male is called a peacock, and the female is a peahen). What did this image teach me? Peacocks appear in quite a few mythologies. In Buddhism, for example, is the…
