“Moonlight drowns out all but the brightest stars.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
What did this image teach me?
First and foremost I learned that getting a shot of the moon that doesn’t instantly look like every other moon shot I’ve ever taken, is actually quite tricky. Secondly, I learned that photographing the moon through a slightly hazy, blue morning sky (rather than during the depth of the night) can add it’s own kind of atmosphere. Finally, I learned that I am fascinated by astro-photography and probably need to put some more effort into this field.
