Trig Point

Constructed by the Ordnance Survey, trig points (or triangulation pillars – if you prefer) were first put up around the UK to help with the retriangulation of Great Britain. Sounds great, doesn’t it? The retriangulation went on for almost 30 years with the aim of improving the quality of mapping.
