The White Poppy

Black and white flower photography is one of my favourite things, partly because I just really like black and white but also because it focuses your attention on the structure and texture of the flower rather than being dazzled by its vibrant colour.

What did this image teach me?

This flower is a Welsh Poppy (it would be bright yellow if you could see it in colour), and whilst it does grow in the upland areas of Wales, it also grows in high places throughout Western Europe.
