The Market Cross

This stone cross stands in the centre of Market Harborough, a place that started out as a tiny Saxon village almost a thousand years ago, before growing over the centuries into the popular town it has become.

What did this image teach me?

I discovered that 800 years after Market Harborough was founded, the canal system arrived (which is how I got here for this photo), followed around 50 years later by the railway line.
